WSOP – AAP Leigh Murtz is through to Day 2

Well for Leigh Murtz, poker seems easy. But in poker when you are up against 7,319 other players who either paid or won their way into the $10,000 USD buy-in tournament, it is not the easiest thing.

Leigh started his tournament playing DAY 1D. With a field filled with big name pro’s such as- David Benyamine, Vanessa Rousso, Jason Mercier, current WSOP player of the year Frank Kassela, last years runner up Darvin Moon, Full Tilt Poker Pro’s Allen Cunningham & Chris Ferguson, The PokerStar Amanda De Cesare, PokerStars Pro Barry Greenstein, Doyle Brunson and many others.

As the WSOP rounds its way into the 2nd day. Leigh will have a day break before hitting the felt again. He currently sits with 44,325 in tournament chips, well placed and will be concentrating on making it through to day 3.

Many pro’s have already made an early exit as they battle it out for a peice of the $73 Million USD prizepool.

Just to put some perspective on this tournament. If Leigh does make the final table he is set to earn $811,823 USD ($925,315 AUD). Not bad for a few days work. That may seem like a lot of money, but the real money comes by the way of first place which is $8,944,138 USD ($10,194,528 AUD).
