Aaron Benton (pictured centre), a former contestant on Big Brother Australia – Season 2, has stamped his name in Australian online poker history. Winning the biggest tournament prize by an Australian. It was the recent FTOP XII Main Event on fulltiltpoker.

You may remember him as the former member of the Royal Australian Navy.

Benton, who plays on Full Tilt Poker as azzabentonaces started heads up of the event with a dominant chip lead of 5 to 1. But he watched his chips slip away as he doubled up his opponent Pocketownage420 twice.

The final hand came when Benton pushed all-in preflop with pocket 7′s and Pocketownage420 called with Ac-Jd, in a classic race situation.

The boad read Qc – Ks – 5d – 10c – 8c

This made a straight for his opponent and sent Aaron to the rail in 2nd place. He picked up $262,500 USD for his efforts, as Pocketownage420 claimed $432,400 for first prize.
