Aaron Benton wins big again in the Sydney APPT

Aaron Benton APPT WinnerAaron Benton is riding a dream year in for his poker game this year. First it was online, where he finished the runner up finish in FTOPS Main Event earlier this year for a big score. But now he is making waves in the real world.

This time it was the 2009 Sydney APPT Main Event. Benton lasted through the 396 players to be the last man standing to win $594,000 AUD.

The world wind is not over for Aaron Benton, who knows we may see another big score for him in January when Australia’s biggest poker tournament begins in Melbourne for the Aussie Millions.

Here’s how the table came into the Main Event:

Seat 1: David Formosa – 956,000
Seat 2: Thomas Slifka – 758,000
Seat 3: Wayne Carlson – 1,114,000
Seat 4: Andrew Hiscox – 848,000
Seat 5: Leo Boxell – 1,236,000
Seat 6: Barry Forrester – 1,087,000
Seat 7: Aaron Benton – 1,790,000
Seat 8: Tom Grigg – 1,950,000
Seat 9: Ernst Hermans – 2,048,000

Here’s how the money was divided at the end of the tournament:

1st: Aaron Benton (Australia) – $594,000
2nd: Ernst Hermans (Netherlands) – $381,348
3rd: Leo Boxell (Australia) – $213,840
4th: Wayne Carlson (Australia) – $166,320
5th: Tom Grigg (Australia) – $130,680
6th: Andrew Hiscox (Australia) – $106,920
7th: Barry Forrester (Australia) – $83,160
8th: David Formosa (Australia) – $65,340
9th: Thomas Slifka (USA) – $47,520
