When no pair is made you are left with just a High-Card. Your hand is made up of the 5 best cards, from both your hole cards and the community cards. Example: You hold A-J and the board comes K-10-2-9-6. You have not made a pair and your best 5 cards are A-K-J-10-9.

| Pair |  |
|
When you have a pair, either by matching one of your hole cards with one of the community cards, or by being dealt a pocket pair. Example: You hold A-J and the board comes A-K-9-2-3. You have made a pair of Ace's.

| Two Pair |  |
|
When you make 2 sets of pairs, either by matching 2 of your hole cards with 2 cards on the board, or by being dealt a pocket pair and the board also becomes paired. Example: You hold A-J and the board comes A-K-7-J-6. You have 2 pair, a pair of Ace's and a pair of Jacks.

| Three of a Kind |  |
|
When you have 3 cards of the same value, either by matching 1 of your hole cards with 2 cards of the same value on the board, or by being dealt a pocket pair and matching that pair with a card of the same value on the board. Example: You hold A-A and the board comes K-Q-2-7-A. You have made 3 Ace's.

| Straight |  |
|
When you have 5 cards that are in sequential order. Example: You hold J-10 and the board come Q-9-3-K-2. You have made a King high straight 9-10-J-Q-K.

| Flush |  |
|
When you have 5 cards all of the same suit. Example: You hold K-10 of Hearts and the board comes 2H-3H-10C-QS-9H. You have made a King high flush 2H-3H-9H-10H-KH.

| Full House |  |
|
When you have 3 of a Kind plus a Pair. Example: You hold A-K and the board comes A-K-2-A-8. You have made a full house, Ace's full of Kings A-A-A-K-K.

| Four of a Kind |  |
|
When you have all 4 cards of the same value. Exmaple: You hold Q-Q and the board comes Q-Q-10-9-5. You have 4 of a Kind, Queens.

| Straight Flush |  |
|
When you have 5 cards that in are sequential order and are all of the same suit. Example: You hold K-Q of Clubs and the board comes JC-10C-2H-9C-6D. You have made a King high straight flush KC-QC-JC-10C-9C.
|
| Royal Flush |  |
|
When you have 5 cards that in are sequential order, are all of the same suit and an Ace is the highest card. Example: You hold A-K of Diamonds and the board comes QD-10D-6H-JD-2S. You have made a Royal Flush of diamonds AD-KD-QD-JD-10D.
