A look at Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan and his Full Tilt Poker commercial
[ Posted May 2nd, 2010 ] by BENjTRON It all started with Tom Dwan when his father gave him $50 for his 17th birthday to deposit in an online poker account. For Dwan, he saw the $6 sit n go’s (single table tournaments) as the way of making a return on his investment. He lost $35 before he actually started turning his money into a profit. After a short while, he found he was able to beat these games regulary and decided to try his hand at the cash games. It didn’t take long before Dwan was moving from small stakes poker to sitting down at multiple tables with over $1 million on each! In only one year Dwan earned $312,000 on Full Tilt in 2007 and then turned that into a $5.41 million profit in 2008. In a world where poker traditionally has experience older men dominating, the online world is quite different. Dwan has amassed millions of hands of experience, something a live poker player will always struggle to achieve. It was earlier this year when Full Tilt Poker acknowledged this 23 year old as being ‘the real deal’ and offered Dwan a top line pro sponsorship. This deal according to Tony G as being worth upwards of $2 million per month.
