1st Ever WSOPE Winner
[ Posted September 11th, 2007 ] by admin Thomas Bihl become the first ever winner of a World Series of Poker Europe bracelet winning the £2,500 HORSE event in London, England. It was not the easiest bracelet to win, as the remaining 8 players at the final table already shared 9 WSOP bracelets between them. Here’s how the final table lined up… Seat 1: Jennifer Harman — 204,000 Seat 2: Gary Jones — 30,000 Seat 3: Joe Beevers — 74,500 Seat 4: Kirk Morrison — 172,500 Seat 5: Thomas Bihl — 130,500 Seat 6: Yuval Bronshtein — 185,500 Seat 7: Alex Kravchenko — 114,500 Seat 8: Chris Ferguson — 142,500 After much action it was down to Jennifer Harman and Thomas Bihl with the lead swapping many times. It was well after a 100 hands of heads-up play before Bihl was crowned the the winner during hold’em play. Here’s how the final hand went down. The flop came… Both players checked. The turn came Harman checked, and Bihl bet out only to be raised by Harman. Bihl then called with a open-ended straight draw and flush draw. The river came a 6, and completed Bilh’s straight and with Harman all in on the river with only two pair – 10′s and 7′s. Here’s how the final standings and payouts looked… 1. Thomas Bihl £70,875 3.
