The World Series of Poker is now in the history books, and we here at AllAussiePoker.com can say without a doubt, Aussie's came away with some very respectable results.

With the largest Australian field to date, back to back victories seemed a little too optimistic for Joe, let alone an Aussie winning the main event in general. With that said, still a massive 37 Aussies cashed in a total of 65 times, with the "team" total well over 3 million bucks! Out of the 65 cashes, 10 were at the final table. With one bracelet going the way of Mark Vos.

Special mentions to...

 The "captain", Tony G, who cashed 6 times in total.

Mark Vos, the only bracelet winner (Event #6 $2,000 No-Limit Hold’em), and highest earning Aussie with $829,663

The champ Joe Hachem, cashing in 4 times with 2 final table appearances and a whisker away from his 2nd bracelet, finishing 2nd in Event #5 $2,500 Shorthanded No-Limit Hold’em to a bad beat delivered from Dutch Boyd. Also finishing in the money in the main event again (238th) beating out thousands again.

Sarah Bilney cashing in 4 times as well, showing the guys that chicks can play a mean game of cards as well.

Jeff Lisandro finished up with yet another big WSOP, cashing 4 times, but most notably being the sole surviving Aussie in the main event, and at some points looked poised to be possibly be the next Aussie champ, finishing 17th and collecting $659,730.

All in all, a great effort by all who hit the felt. Well done to the 13 Australians who cashed in the main event, not the easiest thing to do by any stretch of the imagination. Here is a compiled list of results by aussie's in the 2006 World Series of Poker, just to show you exactly how we did...
